Goldshield 5 (GS5)
Surface Protectant

Antimicrobial Surface Agent

Water-based Goldshield Antimicrobial Surface Agent is simple to apply, fast-acting, safe to store, and relentlessly protects what matters from bacteria, fungi, mold, mildew, and algae that cause odors, staining, and deterioration. It’s the most powerful protection you can provide for your home, office, car, and school.

This product is alcohol and methanol free, all surface, all textile Antimicrobial Surface Agent that defends for up to 90 days per application.

IAQ Network Note: This product is a secret weapon that mold remediation companies use for "post-remediation" protection. The GS5 agent attracts any remaining mold spores like a magnet and kills them on contact, as well as any future spores that are reintroduced to the space.  Regular surface applications of this product will prevent your indoor spaces from forming a high "mold load", which means a very low mold spore count in your indoor spaces and a very low chance of mold growth in your indoor spaces.

Instructions for Best Use
of This Product

1.

Although the mixed GS agent is non-toxic, it's not safe to directly breathe in or get into sensitive areas of your body while applying it to surfaces. The following personal protection equipment is highly recommended:

- N95 mask and lab safety goggles(ones that completely cover around the eyes)

- Or full face respirator with NIOSH Approved P100 magenta colored filters.

- Disposable rubber or nitrile gloves

2.

Get a one-gallon container of distilled water

3.

With a measuring cup, remove(and discard) 3 ounces of the distilled water from the full one-gallon container of distilled water.

4.

Place 2 ounces of GS5 into the distilled water container that you just removed 3 ounces of the distilled water.

5.

Shake the mixture of GS5 and distilled water very vigorously for about 15 seconds.

6.

Place the GS5 mixture into a fogging or misting applicator that disburses liquids down to 5 to 15 microns in particle size, like our recommended VectorFog 100C+ applicator.

7.

Before you start up your applicator, make sure it's set to the smallest micron particle size possible, preferably 5 to 15 microns.

8.

Begin "fogging" or "misting" all of your ceiling and wall surfaces by pointing the applicator nozzle 4-5 feet from the surface area you are fogging. Start in a particular room's ceiling surface and spray in a zigzag pattern as you're moving from one end of the ceiling to the other, zigging in one direction for about 6 feet, then zagging in the next direction for another 6 feet.

9.

Once the ceiling is sprayed in that particular room, spray each wall of that same room before moving to the next room. Start at the upper corner of each wall and zigzag down to the bottom of the wall in a 6-foot-wide pattern, then keep moving to the top of the next 6-foot section of the wall until you get to the next wall, maintaining the same spraying pattern for each section of wall. Make sure you also spray any windows, curtains, or blinds on each wall.

---------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If your ceilings are too high to reach with the applicator, just apply the mixture as high up on the walls as you can reach.

You do not have to spray every inch of the ceiling and wall surfaces because the "fogging" or "misting" will spread the GS5 agent around enough to cover the areas that are not directly sprayed.

Also, you do not need to directly spray the floors or furniture because those surfaces will receive enough coverage from the extra mist that does not stick to the ceiling and wall surfaces.

10.

Spray your intake vents(the vents that suck in the air) throughout your home, as well as the main air handler at your HVAC furnace(it's usually where the HVAC filter is placed). Hold your applicator nozzle 4-5 feet from the vent cover and let the vent suck in the "fog" or "mist" for about 3 minutes. Do this for every intake vent you have, including the main air handler. NOTE: To find which vents suck in the air, take a couple of sheets of toilet paper and hold it against the vent cover. If the vent wants to suck the paper into the vent, that's an intake vent you want to spray.

11.

Lightly spray all the air filters you have in your home (ex: HVAC, Mini-Split, window air conditioners, portable air purifiers, etc.). Preferably, you should spray a new filter and replace it with the one you are currently using.

12.

Once you are done spraying each room, do not keep any mixture of GS5 for more than 10 days after it has been mixed with distilled water, as it does not maintain its efficacy for more than 10 days.

13.

Pour out the remaining GS5 mixture from the applicator. Rinse out the applicator's liquid holding tank a few times with warm water. Then, fill the applicator with warm water and let it run on high outside until all the water has emptied out of it. This helps prevent the applicator's nozzle from getting gummed up with the GS5 mixture.

14.

Repeat the above process every 90 to 120 days.
